I always feel like I have to come up with a title first. I don't know why but i'm going to try to write a post with out a title first. ha.

So we had an eventful weekend. We decided at 8:30 pm friday that we were going to head down to the ozarks friday night. My parents, 2 brothers and 1 bros girlfriend were going to go and they asked us to go to but I thought its just too much with a baby and traveling all that way. I wasn't sure I was up for it. Then I started feeling really guilty for not trying to go. Its not like we couldn't have. I just like to avoid some situations that I know could cause problems later on. Vacations being one of them. Anyways my husband had the bright idea of driving all night to get there sat. am and then when my parents got there surprise them. (1 point husband). He had no idea that I was feeling the way I was, which was crazy he had this idea at the same time. So we traveled all night in our burb. the best way to travel with a baby, while he sleeps thru the night! We got there about 5:30 am. with nothing to do. which was awesome.

We ate breakfast at hyvee (the only place open) then we drove around awhile, looking for a car wash. then we headed to Target. The momma had to buy a mom bathing suit since all i had that would remotely fit was a maternity swimsuit and that wasnt very flatering what so ever. Neither was the one i bought but it works for what i need it for. ugh wish i could look the way i did before cole man. anyways. we booked a room at the same hotel as my folks and checked in around 9. took a short snooze and headed to the pool. Oh I bought a floaty for cole man. Me not paying any attention pulled it out of the marked box and it was pink! omg what am i going to do with a pink floaty!?! well i had to use it. haha. poor thing. oh well maybe ill give it to my cuz. So we swam, ate lunch, swam some more, went back to the room to get ready and thought my family was going to be there around 4. nope didn't show up till 6. we just sat around the hotel for 2 hours people watching and drinking a few beers.

Once they arrived they couldn't have been more excited. I was so happy we went. We decided it was time to eat. then we went mini golfing. It was a great night.

as i type this i think wow this post got long. I have to actually get some more work done but i hate interupting my thought. (that happens alot, wonder if thats why i stopped blogging). anywho i will try to write more about our surprise vacation later! and post pics!

Here is my lil Cole man. He is 7 months old today (will take his picture tonight) but here is vintage Cole. From each month. I can't believe how fast time has gone and how much he has grown. Love him dearly.

It's been too long

So I'm back. Ive been reading blogs ever since i knew i was pregnant and I started this one. Then all of a sudden I quit. Why I have no idea. I was 20 weeks pregnant on my last post and now I am 6 months post pardum. Time has flown by. I wanted to start back writing again because if I can blog about Coles' firsts then I will be a better mother. I suck at updating his baby book and I am starting to not remember important details regarding his childhood. So I figured when I found the time to update his baby book I could look back at the blog and it would help me fill it in. I will update more after I finish some work things. I am determined today!

It's a....

BOY!

Holy cow, I never guessed it would be a boy. But our little guy was not shy at all. Must take after his daddy. We are very excited. We didn't care either way what we were having, we are just excited to know and to start planning. Everything else looked good, he weighed 13 oz at 19 weeks and 6 days. She said he might be measuring a little ahead but not enough to change the due date. We are so happy to have a healthy little boy on our hands.

20 Weeks

Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!

19 Weeks

Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

Boy or Girl

It's a boy if:
· You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy
· Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute
· You are carrying the extra weight out front
· Your belly looks like a basketball
· Your areolas have darkened considerably
· You are carrying low
· You are craving salty or sour foods
· You are craving protein -- meats and cheese
· Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy
· The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy
· Your hands are very dry
· Your pillow faces north when you sleep
· Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you
· Pregnancy has you looking better than ever
· Your urine is bright yellow in color
· Your nose is spreading
· You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves in circles
· You are having headaches
· You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number

It's a girl if:
· You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
· Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute
· You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear
· Your left breast is larger than your right breast
· Your hair develops red highlights
· You are carrying high
· Your belly looks like a watermelon
· You are craving sweets
· You are craving fruit
· You crave orange juice
· You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy
· You are moodier than usual during pregnancy
· Your face breaks out more than usual

· You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread
· Your breasts have really blossomed!
· Your pillow faces south when you sleep
· Your urine is a dull yellow color
· You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves from side to side
- You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number

We will find out next Tuesday, but I am very patiently waiting. Holy cow this is so hard to do. I just want to know so we can start deciding on a name, how I'm going to decorate the nursery, start registering. But then again we will be busy for two weekends in a row after we find out so I'm not sure when we will get to register but yay for the thought. Least I can look online at work then decide and drag Chad into the baby store and tell him which ones I want ( just to make sure he is OK with the decision as well). 6 more days....
